Amy Dowden was spotted in Sheffield on Tuesday morning ahead of the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour, cutting a casual yet stylish figure in a pink button-up jumper. The 34-year-old professional dancer, who recently shared an emotional post about the loss of her friend, appeared in high spirits as she walked down the street.
She paired her jumper with faded black slim-fit jeans and stayed warm in a padded black coat with a faux-fur hood.
Amy Dowden completed her look with Ugg Tazz platform slippers and a large black tote bag, carrying her essentials as she made a brief stop at a coffee shop.
Her outing follows an emotional post in which Amy shared that “life is cruel” and urged fans to support the family of a friend she had made while undergoing cancer treatment, after being deeply affected by her friend’s death.
The Strictly star, who regularly visits the oncology ward for her monthly injections, was left devastated upon hearing the news of her friend’s passing.
Amy Dowden shared the heartbreaking news of her friend Hannah’s passing in an emotional Instagram post, reflecting on their bond formed during cancer treatment. She explained: “Life is cruel and I truly hate cancer! A beautiful soul, Hannah, I met during treatment. Our appointments always aligned, and we’d have a good natter and put the world to rights.”
Amy recalled discussing Hannah on Loose Women, which prompted Hannah to message her with gratitude. She continued: “Hannah, like me, had breast cancer. We spoke so much about our lives after cancer. I remember seeing her during my trek (I had to come back for an injection) and she told me she wanted to join me on one next year to give back.”
As she shared memories of their friendship, Amy noted that Hannah had been six months behind her in treatment and had always been curious, asking about Amy’s experiences. “She was just the most genuine, dedicated mother and soul,” Amy said.
Amy went on to share the tragic news that she had received a message from Hannah’s friend informing her of Hannah’s death last Tuesday. “This has knocked me,” she wrote. “But also knowing she’s left two beautiful twin girls behind, who have already lost their dad to this awful disease. You will live on through them, Hannah!”
In honor of Hannah, Amy shared a GoFundMe page to help her twin girls, expressing her intention to arrange something special for them.
Amy Dowden expressed her grief, saying, “The news has hit me quite hard. I’m gutted and angry. RIP beautiful Hannah. What a woman!”
Having undergone treatment for breast cancer in 2023, Amy made a triumphant return to Strictly Come Dancing in September, after missing the previous series due to her treatment. However, her dance comeback was short-lived when she sustained a foot injury in October.
This injury meant Amy could not continue in the 2024 series, and she was replaced by fellow pro Lauren Oakley, 33. Despite this, Amy is now back with her Strictly co-stars, as they kicked off the Live tour at the end of last week.#newsafro_
