Vogue Williams has issued a firm denial of being the woman featured in a viral video, which depicts a Wizz Air passenger claiming to be “too famous” to be filmed during a flight.
The video, which began circulating on Tuesday, captures a peculiar altercation between a passenger and a fellow traveler, who insisted that the filming cease, allegedly due to their perceived fame.
The incident occurred as Paris Johnson, returning to London after a trip to Hungary, awoke shortly before landing and took out her phone to adjust her hair.
As 18-year-old Paris Johnson calmly combed through her hair, a woman demanded she stop recording, citing a preference not to be filmed—even though she was not visible on camera.
The incident, captured in a now-viral TikTok video with over 28 million views, shows the woman, seated across the aisle, escalating the situation by commanding Paris to cease filming.
In response, Vogue Williams has addressed the speculation in a recent social media post, stating that she has received the video from numerous trolls falsely claiming she was the woman in the footage.
In a TikTok video addressing the trolling, Vogue Williams responded to the rumors with humor and frustration:
*”Oh, Internet. You strike again. I couldn’t figure out why people kept sending me things saying, ‘It’s her, it’s her.’ I just thought it was because I have a deep voice. Then I found out everyone thinks I’m that woman from that girl’s TikTok video saying, ‘Don’t film me, don’t film me!’ – hello… I love being filmed!
That woman also has a Scottish accent, which is surprising because Scottish people are so sound. But the woman is not me. So, for everybody trolling me about it – it’s not even me! Spend more time learning a language or something; you’d be fluent in anything. Stop trolling. Start knitting or something. Get lost – it’s not me!”*
The viral TikTok, which features Paris Johnson filming herself, shows the teen being confronted by a fellow Wizz Air passenger who objected to the recording. Despite Paris explaining that the woman was not visible in the video, the passenger continued to protest, claiming she didn’t want people to know she was on the flight and citing her “recognizable” voice.
The woman went so far as to insist that others could “hear her breathing” and reiterated her desire for anonymity. Paris, separated from the woman by an entire aisle, initially laughed at the request, believing it to be a joke. She later asserted her right to film herself, continuing to record despite the persistent demands.
As the situation escalated, Paris attempted to switch seats, but due to the plane’s imminent landing, she remained near the self-proclaimed “famous” woman, resulting in a heated exchange.
Reflecting on the incident, Paris, a college graduate from Liverpool, Merseyside, explained that the woman had initially acted normally before the dispute began.
“Everything was going fine; the passengers were quite normal,” Paris shared. “I remember falling asleep with my hoodie backwards, and when I woke up, I checked my hair 15 minutes before landing. She said, ‘Can you stop recording me?’ I thought she was joking. At first, I laughed because she looked quite young, but then I realized she was serious.”
Paris added that the woman claimed to be famous, yet neither she nor many others recognized her. The woman insisted people would identify her by her voice, a claim met with confusion by both Paris and those who later viewed the video.
Paris requested to change seats to diffuse the tension, but flight attendants were unable to assist due to the plane’s landing preparations. Despite the confrontation, Paris noted: “I’m just happy I recorded it because, looking back, it’s funny seeing someone having an ego boost like this.”
The viral video has sparked widespread speculation, with social media users attempting to identify the mystery woman. Some questioned the authenticity of the encounter, suggesting it might have been staged. Paris, however, dismissed such claims, emphasizing that she did not know the woman and that the incident was entirely unplanned.
“Lots of people assumed it was a skit or tagged other famous individuals thinking it was them, but honestly, it wasn’t any of those people,” Paris clarified. “I didn’t recognize her, and neither have a lot of others. It’s still a mystery who she really is.”
