Zendaya commanded attention during her first public appearance on Monday, following the announcement of her engagement to longtime partner Tom Holland at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards the previous day.
The 28-year-old actress was seen in West Hollywood arriving at an event to promote her successful film Challengers, ahead of the upcoming Academy Award nominations later this month.
Dressed in a black leather jacket and matching skirt, Zendaya appeared both sleek and stylish. Her straight hair, styled with bangs covering her forehead, further accentuated her chic look. Notably, Zendaya has expressed her desire to “start a family” with Tom Holland.
The Euphoria actress proudly displayed the sizable engagement ring she revealed on Sunday at the Golden Globe Awards.
Her sleek jacket, adorned with slim notched lapels, was uniquely ruched at the seams, with belt buckles hanging from them. Beneath, Zendaya wore a black satin dress featuring a plunging neckline, concealed by her jacket, and a lacy black miniskirt that drew attention to her long, toned legs.
Zendaya enhanced her 5ft10in frame with a pair of pointy-toed black heels and styled her chestnut hair straight, with long strands framing her impeccably made-up face. The remainder of her hair was pulled back into a tight ponytail, fanning out down her back.
She was photographed navigating through a crowd of admirers on her way to the event.
Her film Challengers, directed by Luca Guadagnino and written by Justin Kuritzkes, was released in April in the United States, where it performed well at the box office, grossing $96 million against a $55 million budget, as reported by Box Office Mojo.
Zendaya stars as Tashi Duncan, an aspiring professional tennis player whose career is abruptly halted after tearing her ACL during a match. Her friends and fellow tennis professionals, Patrick (Josh O’Connor) and Art (Mike Faist), compete for her affections, even after she marries Art and becomes his coach. This leads to a dramatic confrontation between the two men on the court of the US Open.
The film earned four Golden Globe nominations, including Best Picture in the Musical or Comedy category and Best Actress for Zendaya, ultimately winning one award for the acclaimed score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, which incorporates elements of beat-heavy electronic dance music.
Zendaya surprised fans when she arrived at the Golden Globe Awards, where Challengers was nominated for multiple awards, sporting her newly debuted diamond engagement ring.
According to sources, Zendaya has “gotten everything she dreamed of,” with “starting a family” being a top priority for the couple once they marry.
TMZ reported on Monday that the proposal took place “between Christmas and New Year’s,” following the Dune actress’ debut of her engagement ring.
Exclusively revealed to DailyMail.com, sources disclosed that Tom, also 28, took a traditional approach by seeking permission from Zendaya’s family before proposing to his Spider-Man: Homecoming co-star.
“The proposal was sweet and romantic and happened over the holidays,” the insider shared. “He did it the old-fashioned way and got permission from her folks. Everyone is thrilled.”
The source continued: “They are the most normal couple at home, and she is ready to spend her life with him. She has gotten everything she dreamed of, and marrying Tom and starting a family is next on her list.”
The Spider-Man actor and Zendaya, who have been in a relationship since 2021, own a $3.7 million home together in Richmond, London.
Regarding Zendaya’s decision to showcase her engagement ring at the star-studded awards ceremony on Sunday night, the insider explained: “Zendaya knew what she was doing when she wore that ring, and she did not care. She also knew this would get out there, but she was ready for it.”
“She loves Tom, and he has stood by her through thick and thin. They share a unique, private romance, and although they may appear to be opposites, nothing could be further from the truth,” a source revealed.
The couple seems to have well-defined goals for their future, particularly after Tom recently expressed his desire to quit acting and become a stay-at-home dad once he and Zendaya have children.
Tom, who also shares two dogs with the Challengers star, stated that he plans to “disappear” from the public eye once he starts his own family, focusing on spending time with his children and enjoying the occasional round of golf.
In an interview with Men’s Health magazine, he said: “When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore. Golf and dad — and I will just disappear off the face of the earth.”
Further detailing their plans for hands-on parenting, the source told DailyMail.com: “They do not want to be the couple who relies on nannies and babysitters to care for their children. One of them will always be there with their kids when they do have children.”
The insider added: “They want a traditional family dynamic, and they currently do not have a team at home. It’s just them, and this is how they prefer it.”#newsafro_
