Maura Higgins, a contestant on I’m A Celebrity and former Love Island star, nearly disrobed entirely in a bold jungle shower scene to celebrate her 34th birthday.
During Monday’s episode, she braved the freezing water to mark the occasion, creating her own iconic jungle shower moment. For the event, Maura donned a revealing black triangle bikini adorned with floral accents, adding to the drama of her daring celebration in the wilderness.
“It’s horrid, isn’t it?” GK remarked sympathetically to Maura as she reacted to the freezing temperatures.
Later, the TikToker was overheard expressing empathy, saying, “I can’t imagine a worse place to spend your birthday, bless her. Maybe we all get a bit of birthday cake for her 24? It’s a milestone.”
In the morning, Jane greeted Maura with a warm hug, saying, “Happy birthday. What a weird birthday to have.”
Reflecting on the unique day, Maura later commented, “Birthday in the jungle! This is definitely going to be one I will never, ever forget.”
Meanwhile, Tulisa opted for a lie-in, only to be roused by the camp’s playful rendition of musical theater. Dean revealed, “Now that she’s out of the Leaders’ Lodge, Tulisa has warned me there must be no musical theater early in the morning, so I made it my mission to ensure the camp woke up with the sound of lovely singing!”
Under the new leadership of Barry and Danny, the campmates were tasked with their daily chores. For birthday girl Maura, this meant teaming up with Coleen to clean the dunny—a far cry from a traditional birthday celebration but undoubtedly a memorable one.
Ahead of her jungle adventure, Maura admitted to Newsafro.com that she hadn’t given much thought to stepping into the infamous jungle shower, made iconic by Myleene Klass’s white bikini moment in 2006.
Joking about the potential for chaos, she teased, “I mean, I’d probably fall over and break my leg. Like, that’s probably what would happen to me. I’ve packed my bikinis, but I haven’t really thought much about it. I’m a bit worried about that water being freezing cold.”
“I hate cold water, so I might be the girl who doesn’t shower the whole time,” Maura joked prior to her jungle adventure.
In past seasons, celebrities like Vicky Pattison, Myleene Klass, and Jorgie Porter famously braved the freezing waterfall in revealing swimwear. However, ahead of this year’s launch, ITV hinted that the iconic “shower scenes” might be scaled back, as the cast appeared to favor more modest attire.
Executive producer Olly Nash told The Sun, “It’s funny—they’ve all asked about that this year, but most people just cover themselves up… People are less likely to get in there and want to flaunt themselves.”
Despite these predictions, Maura surprised everyone by embracing the tradition, stepping into the freezing jungle shower to mark her birthday.
