In a groundbreaking achievement, it became the most-streamed song on its opening day in Spotify Nigeria’s history, reaching 1.57 million streams. This success surpassed the previous record held by Wizkid’s own “Piece of My Heart” featuring Brent Faiyaz, which garnered 1.016 million streams.
Additionally, “Kese” marked a significant moment for African music, as it became the song with the highest opening-day streams by an African artist on Spotify, further cementing Wizkid’s position as one of the continent’s biggest stars. He now holds the top four spots for the most first-day streams on Spotify Nigeria, showcasing his dominance in the streaming space.
The single also serves as the lead for his highly anticipated album Morayo, set to release on November 22, 2024.
