Cardi B issued a strongly-worded, expletive-laden rebuke aimed at supporters of Donald Trump following the Republican candidate’s substantial gains in the U.S. election.
After pivotal victories in battleground states such as North Carolina, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, Trump took the stage early Wednesday morning to claim victory.
Cardi B, expressing pride in Kamala Harris’s success in states like California and Colorado, acknowledged, however, that Harris appeared poised to concede to her Republican opponent.
During an Instagram live session with an audience of 37,000, Grammy-winning artist Cardi B directed a heated response toward Trump supporters flooding her comment section as she shared encouraging words for Kamala Harris.
Upon reading a comment that stated, “Cardi, we need you at the Trump inauguration,” the singer reacted strongly, exclaiming, “I swear to God, I’m going to f*** you up. Get away from me! I’m sick of you! Burn your f*ing hats, motherf**r. I’m really sad. I swear to God, I’m really sad.”
Expressing her admiration for Harris, Cardi B continued, “No matter what, I know she’s probably feeling emotional right now. I know there’s likely a lot on her mind, and while she’s not listening to this at the moment, she’ll eventually see it.”
Cardi B expressed heartfelt support for Kamala Harris, saying, “I just hope she knows, no matter what happens tonight, millions of people are proud of her. Women around the world are proud of her. Women of color are proud of her.”
Reflecting on her initial reluctance to vote, Cardi B shared, “At the beginning of the year, I didn’t want to vote for anyone. But she changed my mind. I felt she was honest and said the things I needed to hear.” She continued, “When I saw her speak, I felt she was genuine and wasn’t playing games. In just 100 days, she woke up this nation. I’m proud of her, and I hope she’s proud of herself. This is one of the most unforgettable elections, and I love her.”
Cardi B joined other celebrities endorsing Harris, including Oprah Winfrey, Eminem, Taylor Swift and her partner Travis Kelce, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Julia Roberts.
Celebrities from both sides of the Atlantic reacted as Trump appeared to secure victory. Liberal radio host James O’Brien tweeted, “What fresh hell is this?” while Shark Tank star Mark Cuban conceded, saying, “Congrats Donald Trump. You won fair and square. Congrats to Elon Musk as well.”
Meanwhile, Trump’s supporters celebrated. Billionaire X owner Elon Musk declared, “Game, set, and match,” adding, “The people of America gave Donald Trump a crystal clear mandate for change tonight.”
