Following two separate encounters with law enforcement, social media influencer Bobrisky has disclosed the rationale behind his departure from Nigeria. On November 4, 2024, he took to Instagram to communicate that, although his absence is temporary, it is essential for his mental health. He remarked, “Yes, I’m here to confirm I’m out of Nigeria temporarily… I need to attend to my sanity and my health. A few Nigerian security agencies attempted to frustrate me, but I have faith in God. Imagine! I purchased a business class ticket three times, yet only one was successful. @kIm, I hope you can refund me for the two I didn’t use. I understand it’s not your fault, but it’s acceptable.” He continued, “Each business class ticket cost me 9,800,000 naira. I only successfully flew yesterday, 3/11/2024. Before you come to my page to comment negatively, check your account balance to see if you can afford three business class seats, let alone buy them three times. Well, I’m no longer in Nigeria, so your comments hold no significance. Cheers.”
Bobrisky has faced numerous challenges throughout the year, with the most recent incident occurring on November 1, 2024, when he was forcibly removed from a plane en route to London and subsequently arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Isaac Fayose, the brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose and a fellow passenger, corroborated the events, sharing images of himself with Bobrisky prior to departure. Additionally, in the week preceding this incident, Bobrisky was apprehended at the Seme border while attempting to leave Nigeria for the Benin Republic, with photographs circulating on social media depicting him in the back of a patrol vehicle following his arrest.
