Following allegations of a N15 million bribe, Bobrisky has been released on bail after denying the authenticity of a voice note linked to the accusations. The social media personality was reportedly granted bail after appearing in court to address the claims.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has granted bail to controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky. The social media personality was apprehended late Thursday night at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos while attempting to board an Amsterdam-bound KLM flight en route to London. Following his arrest, Bobrisky took to social media to inform his followers, claiming he sustained injuries during the incident, stating, “Nigerians, help me, EFCC just arrested me. I’m badly injured.”
Following his arrest, Bobrisky was transported to the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Abuja, where he faced interrogation regarding allegations of bribery involving the commission. A voice note, purportedly shared by controversial social critic Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, allegedly captured Bobrisky admitting to bribing EFCC officials with N15 million to secure the dismissal of money laundering charges against him.
