The Chief Magistrate Court in Abuja has granted bail to detained social media critic Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, setting it at N2 million along with additional stringent conditions.
VeryDarkMan was arraigned on Friday at Court 1 of the Chief Magistrate Court, Wuse Zone 6, within the Federal Capital Territory, on charges related to the unauthorized use of a police uniform.
In detailing the bail terms, Deji Ayedanju, counsel to VeryDarkMan, informed that the court required the sureties to present valid identification and swear an affidavit affirming that they will ensure the defendant’s presence at all trial sessions.
Additionally, the court instructed the prosecutor to verify the sureties’ addresses, and the sureties must also submit their utility bills as part of the bail conditions.
