Heidi Klum unveiled her much-anticipated 2024 Halloween costume in a spectacular red carpet reveal. Known for her elaborate Halloween transformations, Klum captivated the crowd once again with her latest look, sparking excitement and admiration for her creativity.
On October 31, supermodel Heidi Klum, 51, made a dramatic entrance at her renowned annual Halloween party with her musician partner, 35, dressed as the iconic alien from the 1982 classic E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. The duo embodied E.T. both in its original alien form and in the scenes where it’s dressed up by the young characters, Elliot and Gertie, after landing on Earth, paying homage to Steven Spielberg’s beloved film.
Heidi Klum reaffirmed her reign as the “Queen of Halloween” on the red carpet at her annual bash, held this year at the Hard Rock Hotel in New York City. Celebrating her 23rd Halloween extravaganza, she took on the ambitious challenge of surpassing her iconic past costumes.
Among her most unforgettable looks are her 2022 hyper-realistic worm costume and her 2023 transformation into a vibrant peacock, which featured nine acrobats forming her feathers and claws, cementing her place as Halloween’s ultimate costume icon.
For her E.T.-inspired Halloween costume, supermodel Heidi Klum went all out, dressing her alien character in a sheer, floral-patterned slip dress with a platinum blonde wig reminiscent of her own hairstyle, topped with a black bowler hat. She added a brown fur scarf around her elongated neck, positioned just below the folds where her face was visible. Paying homage to the E.T. movie, Klum’s alien also wore a scarlet red shawl and had dramatic makeup to complete the look.
Her partner, Tom Kaulitz, embodied E.T. in its “natural” form, appearing fully nude as the character is initially found by the children on Earth. Together, the two controlled mechanical props to wave and point their fingers, recreating the film’s famous scenes, and even made a grand entrance with their alien fingers intertwined.
Klum began preparing for her legendary costume in the early hours of Halloween, sharing glimpses of her transformation on Instagram. A short clip revealed her face covered in intricate prosthetics with a rippled, wavy effect, heightening the anticipation for her final look.
“We have begun,” Heidi Klum announced in her post, before asking her prosthetic designer, Mike Marino, for a time estimate. His jaw-dropping answer? “Six more hours.”
As her transformation progressed, Klum shared snippets with fans, including an image of a massive prosthetic phalange and a video showcasing a cracked, wrinkly headpiece. She explained that Marino’s creation “has never been done before” and revealed she had been planning this costume since November of last year, right after her peacock debut for Halloween 2023. The “hundreds of prosthetics” required for this look took eight months to craft.
During an Amazon livestream, Klum shared that her costume would be among her most uncomfortable yet, comparable to her worm costume from 2022, as her hands would be fully covered, necessitating the removal of her red manicure. Klum’s famous Halloween bash, a tradition since 2000, returned after a two-year hiatus in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Heidi Klum’s daughter, Leni Klum, joined the festivities on the red carpet, donning a futuristic and alluring extra-terrestrial costume. The 20-year-old model wore a strapless, metallic silver bodysuit paired with over-the-knee boots, and painted her skin a milky white. She completed the look with antennas attached to her white pixie-cut wig. Impressively, Leni enhanced her eyes with dark, beady lenses shaped like eyes, seamlessly blending them with prosthetics.
Adding to the intergalactic theme, Kaulitz’s brother, Bill Kaulitz, frontman of Tokio Hotel, showcased a dazzling, galactic-inspired outfit. Heidi Klum appeared elated after her costume reveal, enjoying the presence of her family as they immersed themselves in the festivities of her star-studded bash.
Klum’s iconic Halloween party boasted an impressive guest list, featuring many A-listers in their finest Halloween attire. Kelsea Ballerini and her boyfriend Chase Stokes made a memorable appearance, dressed as Sandy and Danny from the musical film Grease. Ballerini looked stunning in a skin-tight jumpsuit with an off-the-shoulder neckline, styled with bouncy ringlets and a bold red lip to complete her look.
For her Halloween costume, Nicole Scherzinger donned her Norma Desmond stage outfit from her Broadway performance in Sunset Boulevard. She wore a black slip dress accented with fake blood around her mouth and trickling down her chest.
At the star-studded soirée, Bethenny Frankel, 53, made a stunning entrance as superheroine Wonder Woman. The reality TV personality, who had shared earlier about using colored contacts for her costume, sported a sexy, strapless leotard complemented by a gold Lasso of Truth and red knee-high boots. Posing confidently in a power stance, she showcased the iconic gold tiara adorned with a red star gem, which sat atop her voluminous, bouncy ringlets.
Charli D’Amelio was also in attendance, embracing the role of the Black Swan with heavy makeup and a dramatic black tutu. The TikTok star paired a strapless lace corset with white tights, satin-covered heels, and a bejeweled tiara, expertly mimicking the striking makeup of Natalie Portman’s character from the 2010 thriller.
Additionally, Questlove arrived carrying a teacup, dressed as the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland.
Valentina Sampaio transformed into Christina Aguilera, emulating the iconic outfit from the music video for “Dirrty.”
Alex Consani made a bold statement in sheer lingerie, portraying a sultry version of Gru from The Minions.
Model Alexina Graham channeled a seductive take on Snow White, arriving at the soirée while biting into an apple. She wore a low-cut minidress inspired by the princess’s classic look, complemented by a black bobbed wig.
YouTuber Joey Graceffa took on the role of the friendly faun, Mr. Tumnus, from the Narnia book series.
Aria Addams captivated guests as Morticia from The Addams Family, donning a skintight dress with flowing sleeves that accentuated her glamorous appearance.
Journalist Tamsen Fadal, known for her book on menopause, creatively dressed as a common symptom of perimenopause— a hot flash.
Ice-T and his wife, Coco Austin, opted for a chilling theme, dressing as clowns from a horror slasher movie. Coco, the blonde bombshell, sported a black-and-white wig paired with a sexy leotard for her costume.
At the annual bash, Sofie Dossi and Zach Justice made a charming entrance in a coordinated couple’s costume. The contortionist was adorned in white feathers, embodying a chick hatching from an egg, while the social media personality dressed as Colonel Sanders, the founder of KFC.
Rachel Smith, the 39-year-old TV host, drew inspiration from Beyoncé’s iconic look on the cover of her Cowboy Carter album. She showcased a full-body leather bodysuit, complemented by a striking silver wig and a satin sash, capturing the essence of the pop icon’s style.
