The dynamic duo, Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner, captivated attention with their Halloween tribute to The Simple Life stars, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. Perfectly recreating the famous socialites’ look, they mirrored the original series’ sultry cover art with matching blonde hair and even the signature pitchfork.
On Thursday, Bieber embodied Richie’s style, sporting partially buckled overalls that revealed a pink pushup bra beneath, capturing the playful yet edgy essence of the character.
The 27-year-old model Hailey Bieber completed her The Simple Life-inspired costume by wearing her blonde hair loose and accessorizing with the iconic pearls once worn by Nicole Richie. She added a final touch with a farmer’s pitchfork, posing in front of a barn backdrop to enhance the rural aesthetic.
Meanwhile, 28-year-old Kendall Jenner embodied Paris Hilton, dressed in a lace-up denim corset and miniskirt, carrying a Yorkshire Terrier in her arm. Jenner sported a side-parted blonde wig, completing her look with a rose-adorned choker to capture Hilton’s classic style.
Bieber shared the look on her Instagram Story, captioning it, “Happy Halloween from Paris and Nicole @kendalljenner.” She also took to TikTok, where she reenacted a memorable scene from the original 2003 E! series, lip-syncing Richie’s line about defending her and her friend against an insult.
The video resonated with Bieber’s 13.9 million followers, garnering over 108,000 likes and enthusiastic comments. Paris Hilton herself responded to the tribute, commenting, “Icons recognize icons, obsessed with this!” Fans joined in with praise, including one who noted, “The way you memorize the line and didn’t stutter! Mama H is a star.”
The original The Simple Life series cover art, a nod to Grant Wood’s American Gothic, symbolized the show’s theme of transplanting two wealthy socialites into small-town life. The show celebrated its 20th anniversary last year, with Hilton posting nostalgic photos and Richie sharing highlights from their time on the show.
Earlier this year, Hilton and Richie hinted at a new collaboration during an appearance on Good Morning America. Although not a Simple Life reboot, it marks their first project together in 20 years, building on the legacy of the series that originally ran from 2003 to 2007.
Nicole Richie teased the upcoming project, saying, “We have worked together to create something very special and exciting. I can’t say much but can’t wait for it to come out.”
Paris Hilton confirmed the project with an Instagram post featuring a static TV screen in a vintage living room and tagged Richie. She captioned the post, “New Era. Same Besties. Coming soon to Peacock.”
Titled Paris & Nicole: The Encore, the project is set to premiere on Peacock on Thursday, December 12, 2024.
