The singer offered fans an inside look at her experience, showcasing her moments on stage and interactions with attendees as she encouraged support for Harris’s initiatives. Beyoncé’s posts highlighted her commitment to using her platform for political engagement, especially in her home state of Texas.
Beyoncé delivered a stirring endorsement speech for Kamala Harris’s presidential bid at a rally in her hometown of Houston, Texas, on Friday. The following day, the Freedom singer, 43, shared highlights from the event on her Instagram, including videos and photos capturing the evening’s energy. She captioned the post, “Time to sing a new song,” emphasizing her call for change and support for Harris’s campaign.
Beyoncé’s Instagram carousel featured behind-the-scenes moments from the rally, including a backstage photo with Vice President Kamala Harris and a touching shot of them embracing on stage against a backdrop that read “Vote for Reproductive Freedom.” She also posted photos with her Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland, her mother Tina Knowles, and Texas Senate candidate Collin Allred, who is challenging Ted Cruz for the seat.
“I’m not here as a celebrity. I’m not here as a politician,” Beyoncé stated at the rally. “I’m here as a mother, a mother who cares about the world our children will inhabit—a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, and a world free from division regarding our past, present, or future.”
The mother of three elaborated, “Imagine our daughters growing up without ceilings or limitations on what is possible. It’s time for America to sing a new song.”
With enthusiasm, she concluded, “Let’s do this. Ladies and gentlemen, give a big, loud Texas welcome to the next president of the United States, Vice President Kamala Harris,” prompting a resounding roar of support from the crowd.
The Single Ladies singer did not perform at the event, which reportedly disappointed some fans. However, the comments on her post reflected a contrasting narrative filled with love, support, and gratitude.
The rally attracted over 30,000 attendees, with an additional 10,000 gathered outside, while 2.5 million viewers watched the event live stream.
Kelly Rowland stood on stage alongside Beyoncé during her speech, delivering her own endorsement of Harris. “We are writing a new American story… of kindness and hope,” she declared.
