Jeremy Clarkson has issued a concerning health update, revealing that he underwent a procedure following a sudden deterioration in his health. The television presenter and former “Top Gear” host did not provide extensive details but expressed his worries about his condition. This news has raised alarm among fans and followers, prompting an outpouring of support and concern for his well-being. Further updates are anticipated as Clarkson addresses his health situation.
Jeremy Clarkson, 64, revealed he was just “days away” from becoming seriously ill when he underwent surgery. During the procedure, surgeons discovered he had a blocked artery. Clarkson expressed relief, admitting, “Crikey, that was close,” highlighting the severity of his condition and the urgency of the situation. His health update has sparked concern among fans, who are hoping for his swift recovery.
Jeremy Clarkson began feeling unwell after swimming in the Indian Ocean during what he described as an “amazing” holiday. Upon returning to Britain, he experienced a rapid deterioration in his health, struggling to climb stairs and feeling clammy with tightness in his chest and pins and needles in his left arm. The recent tragic death of Alex Salmond from a massive heart attack prompted Clarkson to visit his GP.
He was subsequently taken by ambulance to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where doctors ruled out a heart attack after conducting an electrocardiogram (ECG), blood tests, and X-rays. It was during this assessment that the blocked artery was discovered, leading to his urgent surgery.
Jeremy Clarkson’s worrying health update came just two days after he shared a post on Instagram showing what appeared to be a white surgical plaster on his wrist. In his column for The Sunday Times, he reflected on the “wearisome effects of growing old” and described his experience leading up to the surgery.
After further checks, doctors informed him he was “perhaps days away” from becoming very ill due to a completely blocked artery and another artery that was on the verge of blockage. Clarkson underwent a procedure to fit a stent, which helps improve blood flow to the heart and can prevent future heart attacks. He noted that the procedure wasn’t especially painful, just “odd,” and remarked, “Crikey, that was close.”
Following this health scare, Clarkson mused about changing his lifestyle, wondering about the taste of water and whether it’s possible to make celery interesting, indicating he might consider reducing his meat intake.
Jeremy Clarkson previously disclosed that he quit smoking after contracting pneumonia while on holiday in Spain. Last month, he, along with Richard Hammond and James May, concluded their show The Grand Tour on Prime Video. Clarkson continues to present Clarkson’s Farm, which chronicles his experiences running his farm in Oxfordshire, as well as Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? on ITV. He also recently opened a pub named The Farmer’s Dog in Asthall, near Burford, close to his home near Chipping Norton.
The health concerns arose following the tragic death of former Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond, who passed away from a massive heart attack earlier this month at the age of 69. Salmond had just delivered a speech at the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy Forum in Ohrid, North Macedonia, when he collapsed in a crowded room during lunch after suffering the heart attack. Mark Donfried, the director of the Academy for Cultural Diplomacy, confirmed the circumstances surrounding Salmond’s death.
