Madonna and her former partner, Carlos Leon, have jointly released infrequent family photographs in celebration of their daughter Lourdes’ 28th birthday.
Madonna, the mother of Lourdes, shared a compilation of videos featuring her daughter’s singing and modeling endeavors, alongside nostalgic photographs capturing various moments from Lourdes’ life.
In her post, Madonna referenced her song “Little Star,” from the 1998 album Ray of Light, which was dedicated to her daughter during her early childhood. This acknowledgment was particularly poignant, as it provided a moment of solace amid Madonna’s recent grief following the passing of her brother, Christopher Ciccone.
“Lourdes Maria Ciccone Leon!!! Happy Birthday to my firstborn! My one and only Little Star! ⭐️⭐️⭐️,” Madonna commenced her heartfelt caption.
“However, there is nothing ‘little’ about you. You embody big energy, a generous heart, and a radiant spirit. You were, and will forever remain, my first true love. ♥️♥️♥️ Continue to shine, Lolita; shine on.”
Lourdes’ father, Carlos Leon, also participated in the birthday celebration by sharing a collection of both recent and archival photographs featuring himself and his daughter.
“Happy birthday to my beautiful, intelligent, and talented daughter! 28 years young,” he began in his caption.
“It seems like just yesterday that you entered my life! Maintain your resolve and take no prisoners,” he encouraged.
“You are a queen and a lioness! The world is yours to command! I love you to the moon and back!!! — Pop’s @o.g.daddy_,” he expressed.
Lourdes was born on October 14, 1996, to her pop star mother and personal trainer father.
From the outset, the Material Girl displayed an undeniable affection for her daughter.
Madonna was motivated to compose the song “Little Star,” featured on her Grammy-winning album Ray of Light, as a tribute to her daughter.
Lourdes, inheriting her mother’s vocal abilities, made her musical debut with the single “Lock & Key,” performing under the stage name Lolahol.
Lourdes is also a successful fashion model, having collaborated with prominent brands such as Marc Jacobs, Burberry, Mugler, and Swarovski.
In earlier statements, Lourdes described her mother as “a control freak” during her upbringing. However, as an adult, her perspective on her upbringing has evolved.
She expresses particular gratitude for her mother’s empowering influence on other women and acknowledges her mother’s progressive mindset, recognizing how ahead of her time she has always been, as reported by People.
