Taylor Swift’s fans have taken to social media to mock what they perceive as a “ridiculous” break-up contract following her show of support for Travis Kelce, particularly in light of the rumored split date.
The speculation surrounding the couple’s relationship intensified after it was reported that they were expected to part ways around the time of Taylor’s recent concert. However, the pop star’s public backing of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end has led many fans to question the validity of the rumors, with some humorously suggesting the need for a contractual agreement to outline the terms of their relationship.
The 34-year-old singer was present in the audience at Arrowhead Stadium to support the 34-year-old athlete, effectively dispelling rumors surrounding a purported breakup “contract” between the two.
Fans of the couple expressed their excitement at seeing Swift in attendance, while also ridiculing the “ridiculous” contract, which allegedly stated that the couple’s breakup date was September 28.
“Now you all can shut the hell up about that bulls**t ‘breakup contract,'” one fan remarked on Twitter.
Another humorously quipped, “BREAKING: Travis Kelce reaches long-term extension with Taylor Swift. The pair is under contract for the next three years. Taylor has the option to extend the contract if Travis continues to positively impact her brand. Travis can earn a bonus if he does the dishes.”
“Taylor Swift is on a week-by-week contract, I see,” another user commented.
One fan shared a video of Taylor arriving at the game, stating, “Just sent this video to my mom, and she now believes that Taylor and Travis didn’t break up. I’ve been telling her that all week.”
“Weren’t Kelce and Taylor Swift supposed to break up at the end of September or something?” one fan questioned.
“I thought Taylor Swift and Kelce were supposed to break up two weeks ago,” another added.
“I’m surprised they are still together!” another fan expressed.
In a humorous take, one user theorized, “She had to make an appearance after the relationship contract leaked,” accompanied by a laughing emoji.
Swift looked as chic as ever, showcasing her legs in a plaid mini dress paired with chunky black boots. The superstar adorned her face with glitter and sported her signature red lipstick.
She attended the opening two games of the season in Kansas City but missed the subsequent road games against the Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Chargers. However, she made her return as the Chiefs aimed to maintain their winning streak against the New Orleans Saints.
Swift has been enjoying a break from her Eras Tour, which is set to resume next week in Miami, making her recent absence from Kelce’s games surprising over the past fortnight.
However, she took her seat in the stands alongside her father, Scott, to cheer on Kelce as he aimed to lead the Chiefs to a 5-0 start in their pursuit of a historic third consecutive Super Bowl title. She even adorned her face with red glitter, subtly signaling her support for the Chiefs.
Her appearance quelled concerns about a potential split between the couple, which arose after a leaked “contract” claimed they would break up in late September. Fans of both Swift and Kelce were relieved when the document, which specified an exact breakup date, was denounced as fake.
Despite circulating online on headed paper from Kelce’s PR company, the breakup announcement never materialized, leaving the public anxious since the couple had not been seen together since the date mentioned in the document.
Swift also missed Travis’s 35th birthday celebrations over the weekend—an unexpected absence given their affectionate display at the US Open earlier this month. Following the spread of the document alleging their plans to split, Travis’s representatives were compelled to deny the claims.
The paperwork, purportedly created by the Los Angeles-based firm Full Scope, outlined a strategy for the couple’s split, stating that an announcement was scheduled for September 28.
The document detailed a supposed plan to issue an official statement at the end of the previous month—three days post-breakup—to “allow the initial media frenzy to settle and ensure clarity.” It specified that the announcement would be “gracious, respectful, and stress mutual respect.”
The proposed statement was laid out as follows: “Travis and Taylor have decided to part ways after careful consideration. They both value and respect each other’s personal lives and appreciate your respect for privacy during this time. They are both committed to their careers and personal growth. They remain friends and wish each other the best.”
Additionally, the paperwork suggested that the announcement would emphasize Travis’s “personal growth,” framing the breakup as a “natural part of life,” while highlighting his dedication to his career and ongoing achievements in the sports industry.
However, a spokesperson for Full Scope firmly denied the authenticity of the document, asserting that the claims were “entirely false and fabricated” and that they were not created, issued, or authorized by the agency.
At that time, the representative indicated that they had engaged legal counsel, although they did not anticipate identifying the source of the leak. “We have engaged our legal team to initiate proceedings against the individuals or entities responsible for the unlawful and injurious forgery of documents,” they stated.
A spokeswoman for Taylor did not respond when approached for a comment regarding the alleged split.
In response to the mounting speculation, the couple made efforts to dispel the rumors by appearing together at several public events, including football games, a friend’s wedding in New York, and the US Open.
