Since her split from comedian Paddy McGuinness, Christine has admitted to seeing someone new since June. The star, who has been candid about her life post-separation, stated she has no intention of marrying again after their amicable divorce.
Christine, who split from her husband in 2022, revealed that despite their separation, they maintain a strong relationship and continue to live together with their children—twins Leo and Penelope, 10, and seven-year-old Felicity. In August, it was reported that the couple avoided a lengthy court battle.
Reflecting on moving on from her ex-husband, Christine recounted the moment she met her new partner, expressing that she feels “the calmest she’s ever been.” She shared, “I met them on my birthday through mutual friends, and we’ve been dating since June. It’s someone I know. I wasn’t thinking anything at the time, but we kept in touch, and it’s so nice and laidback.”
The TV personality emphasized that there are “no labels” in this new relationship, which she finds refreshing. She mentioned that Paddy has yet to meet her new partner, and added, “It’s still new and early days. After having a relationship in the public eye for so long, I’m not sure I want this relationship to be public. This is nice.”
“I’ve been exceptionally transparent from the outset regarding my circumstances, and my partner is completely supportive of that. I feel fortunate to be in good company. Although I don’t have much time to myself, when I do, it’s truly enjoyable, and we share many laughs.”
Christine disclosed her return to dating during an August appearance on Loose Women, reiterating that she is unlikely to pursue marriage again. She expressed, “I really don’t think so. I’ve experienced it—I had the grand wedding. Anyone who gets married typically doesn’t envision it ending, but should it occur, you navigate through it. After such an experience, marriage is the last thing on your mind.”
Despite the amicable nature of her divorce, Christine acknowledged that it has been both draining and challenging at times. “It’s a lot to manage when you must rise each day and maintain a smile for your children.”
Christine has also candidly discussed her distinctive living arrangement with Paddy, highlighting that they continue to reside together with their three children. “He’s often away due to his work commitments, yet we maintain a positive relationship, understanding the necessity of presenting a united front for our children.”
She concluded, “I’m the calmest I’ve ever been. I previously underestimated the level of unrest within my nervous system. There was a consistent sense of shakiness and anxiety within me, largely stemming from a fear of change.”
“I’ve only begun to feel comfortable with the changes that followed the divorce this year. I somewhat feel like I live independently anyway, as Patrick works so much. So when I do have time alone, I know I’ll be okay.
He’s an incredible dad—very hands-on at home and exceptional at his work. He’s a wonderful provider, but that role comes with its challenges. I remain the constant presence for our children at home.
We’ve never engaged in an argument. While we do have difficult and challenging conversations, arguing isn’t part of my nature. We maintain a solid balance; when he is home, I can take a couple of days away without guilt because it’s his time with the kids.
I frequently receive messages from couples in my DMs who are navigating separations, asking for guidance. I always emphasize that, regardless of what has occurred between you and your partner, the children must come first. As a parent, they should be your top priority.”
