Dave Grohl was spotted publicly for the first time following the disclosure of having fathered a child from a clandestine relationship. During an outing to shop for Halloween decorations with his daughter, he affirmed that he continues to receive support from his family.
The Foo Fighters frontman, aged 55, was seen departing a Spirit Halloween store in Los Angeles with his 10-year-old daughter Ophelia, whom he shares with his wife, Jordyn Blum, aged 48. He is also the father of two other daughters, Violet, 18, and Harper, 15. The musician was preparing for the upcoming holiday, pushing a cart filled with decorations, which notably included two life-sized skeletons.
The former Nirvana drummer donned a casual ensemble for the outing, consisting of a grey t-shirt, black cargo shorts, and a baseball cap, with his long hair secured in a bun.
Grohl surprised fans last month when he admitted to infidelity with his wife of 21 years, Jordyn, revealing that he had welcomed a baby girl with an unnamed woman.
During their Sunday outing, Dave, who has recently faced criticism from ex-girlfriend Kari Wuhrer—who labeled him a “scumbag” and “serial cheater”—also wore a cross necklace as an accessory.
His daughter embraced a casual style as well, donning an oversized black t-shirt, light jeans, and sandals.
Following their shopping excursion, Grohl loaded his purchases into the back of his truck before driving away.
On September 10, the musician announced via social media that he had welcomed a daughter, expressing his commitment to work towards regaining the trust of his wife and their three daughters.
“I have recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I intend to be a loving and supportive parent to her,” Grohl disclosed to his 1.4 million Instagram followers.
“I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything in my power to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”
He concluded the brief post by stating, “We appreciate your consideration for all the children involved as we move forward together.”
Grohl did not provide any details regarding the mother of his fourth child in the announcement.
Grohl and his wife, Jordyn Blum, first met in 2001 and have been married since 2003.
In the wake of his announcement regarding the child he fathered outside of their marriage, his two older daughters removed their social media accounts.
Shortly thereafter, reports surfaced regarding his alleged relationship with porn publisher Annaliese Nielsen, 40, with former acquaintances telling DailyMail.com that she and Grohl had a 15-year affair.
Blum reportedly “turned a blind eye” to Grohl’s conduct throughout their marriage, but she may now choose to speak out following these recent revelations.
“Close friends believe she has ignored Dave’s indiscretions for a considerable period,” an insider disclosed. “Now that he has publicly humiliated her with the news of his child, she can no longer maintain the facade of a perfect marriage.”
Additionally, it has been reported that Grohl has recently engaged in disputes with Blum over her “flirty” relationship with her married tennis coach, Christopher Crabb. Insiders claim this may have been an attempt by Grohl to divert attention from his own indiscretions.
“Dave Grohl has been jealous for a long time regarding Jordyn’s attractive tennis coach,” the insider remarked to Newsafro.com. “They’ve had disagreements about him, and Dave believes they’ve flirted. Jordyn has assured him he is irrational for even thinking that, yet Dave continues to express his concerns.”
Grohl’s admission of marital infidelity follows a previous confession to The Guardian in 2007, where he acknowledged having cheated on his first wife, Jennifer Leigh Youngblood. The couple married in 1994 but separated by 1996, ultimately finalizing their divorce the following year.
The rock star, often characterized as a “family man,” has consistently emphasized the significance of his family in various interviews over the years. In the aforementioned Guardian interview, Grohl remarked, “[My wife] Jordyn and [daughter] Violet are anchors that keep me from completely disappearing.”
In a 2012 conversation with TIME, he stated that his family “changed everything that I do,” elaborating, “When you have kids, you see life through different eyes. You feel love more deeply and are maybe a little more compassionate. It’s inevitable that that would make its way into your songwriting.”
While little information is publicly available about Blum, People reported that she was discovered at a supermarket at the age of 12 and once graced the cover of Teen magazine. At the time she met Grohl, she was reportedly working as a producer at MTV.
However, Grohl disclosed to Elle in 2007 that he was initially unprepared for a serious relationship when they first met and ceased communication with Blum after a few dates. He recounted, “After three months, I had a revelation and called her back. She picked up the phone and said, ‘Oh, I never thought I’d hear from you again.'”
Meanwhile, Foo Fighters are reportedly “set to take a hiatus” in light of Grohl’s affair scandal.
