Rajel Nelson, fiancée of rapper Boosie Badazz, recently expressed her perspective on the importance of maintaining personal space and independence within a relationship through a social media video. In this candid post, Rajel provided advice to women who are dating but not yet married, stressing the significance of retaining one’s own living arrangements until the marriage is formalized.
“My recommendation to women: if you are not married, I do not endorse cohabitation,” Rajel stated unequivocally. She elaborated that residing separately while in a relationship enables each individual to preserve personal space and autonomy, which she views as vital to fostering a healthy partnership. “I’ve always maintained that it’s best to have your own place until marriage because, once you live together, you are essentially devoting all of your time to the other person.”
Having been in a relationship with Boosie for several years, Rajel disclosed that she has consistently maintained her own residence throughout the course of their relationship. For the past three years, she has retained her own space and has no intention of altering this arrangement until they are wed. “Why do I have my own place? I’ve kept my own residence for the last three years simply because I prefer it,” she explained. “When you need personal time, you can retreat to your own space, and I really value that.”
In Rajel’s view, having a separate living arrangement is not solely about maintaining independence; it also serves as a means of nurturing her personal growth and advancing her business endeavors. “I run a business, and in order to work efficiently and focus on what needs to be done, I require my own house where I can concentrate,” she added. Her residence, which she affectionately refers to as her “girl crash pad,” functions as a haven where she can reflect, pray, organize her week, and manage her affairs.
“It’s my office and my personal space,” Rajel emphasized, underscoring the balance she has achieved between her relationship and her personal needs. She believes that having a separate living space allows her to stay grounded and productive, which ultimately enhances her role as a partner when spending time with Boosie.
