A cosmetic surgery expert has provided insights on the significant transformation of a UK soap star, who now appears almost unrecognizable following recent procedures. The expert noted that the star’s new appearance suggests a comprehensive overhaul, possibly involving facial fillers, rhinoplasty, and other enhancements, contributing to a notably different look. This dramatic change has sparked considerable discussion among fans and industry observers regarding the impact of such transformations on celebrity identities.
Fans of beloved actress Michelle Keegan recognize her for her effortlessly glamorous aesthetic and toned physique. However, cosmetic surgery experts have noted that her current appearance markedly differs from the look she showcased when she first appeared on screens 17 years ago. This transformation has prompted discussions about the changes in her aesthetic over the years.
Throwback images of Michelle Keegan, particularly from her days portraying Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street, reveal a striking transformation. While the actress, married to former TOWIE star Mark Wright, has previously denied undergoing any cosmetic “tweakments,” experts are now speculating that various procedures may explain her current appearance.
Beth Drew, an NHS midwife and aesthetics practitioner based in Worcestershire, recently shared her observations regarding Michelle Keegan’s transformation in an Instagram video. Drew speculated that Keegan may have undergone procedures resulting in plumper lips and a contoured chin, as well as potential enhancements to her upper eyelids.
“Michelle Keegan exemplifies aesthetic treatments done correctly,” she stated to her 4,000 followers. While acknowledging Keegan’s inherent beauty, Drew emphasized that her current appearance likely involves cosmetic enhancements.
Drew noted that Keegan’s youthful look could be attributed to anti-wrinkle injections, such as Botox, around her eyes and forehead, which relax muscles to reduce lines and wrinkles. “In my professional opinion, I believe she has had Botox, particularly around the forehead and eyes, which opens them up. In the before photos, her eyes appeared slightly hooded, whereas in the after photos, they are not,” she explained in the video.
“Botox can effectively lift the eyebrows and smooth fine lines and wrinkles,” Drew noted. She also speculated that Keegan may have undergone a nose job or a non-surgical rhinoplasty using dermal fillers.
Traditional rhinoplasty involves reshaping the nose’s tip through a complex surgical procedure, which can risk complications such as asymmetry or excessive tissue removal, potentially leading to an overly pinched appearance.
In contrast, non-surgical nose jobs, which have gained popularity, involve injecting hyaluronic acid to fill in bumps—similar to treatments used for lips and cheeks. However, some surgeons have cautioned against using fillers at a young age, as it may lead to stretched skin that sags prematurely.
Mrs. Drew remarked, “She’s definitely had some lip filler, but it’s been done very nicely. Her jaw and chin appear contoured. It’s possible she hasn’t had her jaw done; the chin filler alone could elongate her jawline. She just looks stunning.”
Keegan has neither confirmed nor denied having undergone rhinoplasty or any non-surgical treatments, such as fillers or Botox injections. In 2018, she told the Sunday Express Magazine that she appreciates the speculation about her appearance but expressed reservations about plastic surgery, stating, “I’m scared it would go wrong.” She added, “I like that people think I’ve had a nose job or new cheeks and chin.”
She added, “But I haven’t, and I don’t think I ever would, to be honest. I’m scared it would go wrong.”
In 2015, Keegan addressed the ongoing speculation, stating, “[The speculation] doesn’t really upset me. People always ask, ‘Have you or haven’t you?’ But it’s my business. It’s my face. So what if I have or haven’t? I don’t pay attention to the speculation.”
During an interview with Alan Carr that same year, she asserted that she had not undergone dental work, emphasizing, “Just to clarify, I have 100 percent not had my teeth done… They are MY teeth. So I appreciate the compliment.”
Additionally, in 2014, her spokesperson refuted rumors regarding any breast enhancement procedures.
