EastEnders star Letitia Dean, 56, has revealed that she has lost an additional two stone following her impressive weight loss journey. Along with her transformation, Dean showcased a glamorous new hairstyle while filming intense wedding scenes for the show.
Letitia Dean, 56, has previously amazed viewers with her glamorous transformation. Continuing to highlight her impressive weight loss, the EastEnders star filmed dramatic wedding scenes on Wednesday. Known for her role as Sharon Mitchell since the show’s inception in 1985, Dean showcased her striking new hairstyle as she arrived at the church to film George Knight’s big day.
Letitia Dean showcased her slender legs in a chic black mini dress as she joined co-star Michelle Collins, who portrays Cindy Beale. The soap legend displayed her bouncy blonde blow-dry upon arriving on set, where George’s big day is anticipated to be filled with drama, as his former flame Cindy declares he should not marry his fiancée, Elaine.
In recent years, Letitia Dean has focused on her health and well-being, eliminating one of her bad habits. While her total weight loss remains undisclosed, she revealed in January that she had dropped from 10st 4lbs to 8st 3lbs, losing an impressive four dress sizes in just four months.
Letitia acknowledged that previous attempts at “faddy diets” had been unsuccessful, but after cutting out junk food, she began to feel significantly better. Speaking to Closer, she shared, “It was incredible. I found I had so much more energy than when I used to eat junk food.”
Now, Letitia has embraced long-term lifestyle changes, enjoying meals of “grilled skinless chicken” and “lots of greens.” She explained her motivation: “The main reason I wanted to do something about my figure was that I was so sick of extreme dieting and my weight yo-yoing.”
“I woke up one morning and decided I’d had enough. For years, my weight had fluctuated up and down. I tried fad diets like Atkins or only eating eggs,” she recalled. While she noted that she lost a stone within weeks on a yo-yo diet, she admitted that such methods were unsustainable and she often reverted to her old habits.
Letitia Dean has revealed that she maintains a well-balanced diet, consuming approximately 1,300 calories a day, and complements her healthy eating habits with exercises such as running and boxercise. The NHS typically recommends a daily caloric intake of around 2,000 calories for women and 2,500 for men.
Recently, Letitia expressed her frustration with online scammers who have exploited her profile to promote weight loss pills. A source close to her stated to MailOnline: “It is complete nonsense for B+ Weight Management or any other weight loss brand to claim that Letitia has given permission for her image to be used. This advertisement and product have absolutely no relevance to Letitia whatsoever, and she urges potential customers to do their research before purchasing weight loss products, especially those that claim celebrity endorsements.”
The advertisements for B+ Weight Management slimming pills have been circulating on Facebook, leading interested parties to a fake interview where Letitia supposedly claims to have “lost five stone in two weeks” due to the pills. The misleading content also suggested that she needed to lose weight to avoid surgery and falsely claimed that her BBC bosses were “furious” about her new body shape.
The scammers even fabricated an interview purportedly conducted with Letitia on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, despite her rarely speaking publicly. Her EastEnders co-star Natalie Cassidy, who portrays Sonia Fowler, cautioned fans during an Instagram Live session that Letitia’s association with the firm is untrue and denied that her own weight loss was related to the pills.
