Shakira was filmed leaving the stage abruptly after fans appeared to film up her dress in a shocking social media video.
The 47-year-old singer was performing her new single, Soltera, at LIV Miami when she noticed revelers filming up her skirt. Shakira paused her dance, holding her skirt with both hands, and shook her head at the fans to indicate she was aware of their actions. After briefly resuming her performance, she turned back to the fans and waved her hand before leaving the stage. She was subsequently met by security and greeted by fans in the VIP area.
Fans online quickly condemned the filming, with one commenter stating, “People are gross,” and another adding, “That’s truly disappointing behavior. Artists deserve respect and privacy, both on and off stage. It’s crucial to ensure a safe environment for everyone.” Others voiced their frustration, with remarks such as, “Shakira can’t even enjoy and dance to her own song?” and “It’s wild how some guys can single-handedly turn a great experience into a total cringe-fest with their creepy vibes.”
In June, Shakira mentioned she was not ready for a “formal relationship” but indicated she might be open to a fling, two years after her split from longtime partner Gerard Piqué.
The Colombian hitmaker and Spanish football star Gerard Piqué, 37, were together for 11 years, during which they had two sons, Milan, 11, and Sasha, 9, before their separation in 2022. Rumors circulated that Piqué had cheated on Shakira with his now-girlfriend and former employee, Clara Chía, 26.
When asked about her dating life in an interview with Rolling Stone this week, Shakira responded, “I’m not thinking about that. What space do I have for a man right now?”
Shakira continued, “What can I tell you, I like men. That’s the problem. I shouldn’t like them with everything that’s happened to me, but imagine how much I like men that I still like them.”
Since her split from Gerard Piqué, Shakira has been romantically linked to high-profile figures such as Tom Cruise and Lewis Hamilton. More recently, she has been seen with Lucien Laviscount, 32, who appeared in her music video for “Puntería” in March. A source told Newsafro.com in April that Shakira and Laviscount “are seeing each other but are not heavily involved yet.”
However, Shakira told Rolling Stone that she is not currently interested in pursuing a relationship, emphasizing that the well-being of her children remains her top priority. She stated, “I think my kids would have to be very prepared for that, and their emotional and psychological well-being is the priority.”
She did hint at the possibility of a future fling, saying, “Hey, I’m not opposed to having friends,” suggesting she remains open to new connections.
Shakira also declared that she’s regained her confidence, saying, “More swag. I got my swag back. And I got my sexy back.” This marks a notably positive shift from the difficulties she faced two years ago, including her split from Gerard Piqué and a legal battle over tax evasion in Spain.
Shakira reflected on the challenging period she faced, including her father’s severe fall at 90, which required six surgeries. She described that time as the most intense suffering she had ever experienced, saying it sometimes impeded her ability to function. She likened the emotional pain to “someone had stabbed a hole in my chest,” a sensation so tangible that it felt almost physical.
The music icon also spoke about the personal sacrifices she made during her relationship with Gerard Piqué and how she has been rediscovering herself since their split.
Shakira explained, “When you leave a relationship of many years, there are aspects of yourself that seem to have been lost along the way. You change or give up parts of yourself for the other person. When the relationship ends, it feels like you’re left with nothing and must heal, rediscover yourself, and return to the core of who you are.”
