The battle line has been drawn and the U.S. is entering the heat of the presidential campaign, and the race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump remains pretty close by any measure, from the polls result.
The New York Times took a look at the national polling average, including the averages in seven prominent states. The Times has updated the national polling average looking at Electoral College voting results, the magnitude of each state’s biggest polling miss in recent elections, and how the averages have changed. Polls in those seven key states are very close with Kamala Harris showing a tiny lead but this cannot form a basis for judgement yet.
