Rod Stewart, 79, and Penny Lancaster, 53, have reached a “stalemate” in their marriage following Stewart’s rejection of offers on their $70 million Beverly Hills mansion and his reversal on plans to relocate to the UK.
Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster are struggling to maintain their 17-year marriage after Stewart backed out of plans to sell their $74 million Beverly Hills mansion and relocate permanently to the UK. The 79-year-old rocker had promised Lancaster, 53, that they would move from Los Angeles to their $5.8 million countryside estate in Harlow, Essex, following his announcement that it was “time to leave” the US last year.
However, Newsafro.com has learned that the couple is now at an impasse. Stewart has refused to leave LA, while Lancaster is adamant about not staying, particularly after Stewart extended his Las Vegas residency and rejected two offers on their nine-bedroom property just over a month ago.
The news follows Lancaster’s recent hints at “family issues.” Lancaster, who shares sons Alastair, 18, and Aiden, 13, with Stewart, whom she married in 2007, has been vocal about their challenges.
A well-placed insider revealed, “Rod loves his life in LA and travels frequently to Vegas for his gigs. He enjoys spending quality time with his grandchildren and hosts a banquet dinner almost every Sunday night at home for a group of his closest friends.”
