Tony McFarr, a stuntman who worked as a double for prominent Hollywood actors such as Chris Pratt, passed away from complications related to a heart condition likely caused by acute alcohol poisoning due to prolonged heavy drinking.
According to new documents obtained by Newsafro, the Orange County Medical Examiner in Florida officially determined that Tony’s death was the result of an irregular heartbeat stemming from an issue with his heart valves.
The Medical Examiner (ME) reported that contributing factors to Tony McFarr’s death included alcohol poisoning and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a prevalent lung disease that restricts airflow and leads to breathing difficulties.
The autopsy revealed that Tony had a history of binge alcohol abuse. The report also disclosed his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) at the time of examination, noting a level of 0.29 percent. For context, the legal BAC limit for driving in most states is 0.08 percent.
It was reported that Tony McFarr’s passing was in May, with his mother, Donna, describing his death as unexpected and shocking.
According to the Medical Examiner, Tony was found deceased in his home. The report indicates that his body had been there for some time, as signs of decomposition were already present.
The Medical Examiner has officially classified Tony McFarr’s death as an accident. He was just 47 years old.
