A key ally of Vladimir Putin has issued a stark warning to the West, cautioning that it risks igniting a third World War if it continues to permit Ukraine to attack Russian territory. Sergei Chemezov, a close confidant of Putin and CEO of Rostec, which supplies much of Russia’s weaponry, stated that the United States and its Western allies are provoking a global conflict by supporting Ukraine in its strikes against Russia.
Chemezov, a former KGB general who served alongside Putin in East Germany, echoed the Kremlin’s stance that the ongoing conflict is a confrontation between the West and Russia. He emphasized that Russia feels confident in its position more than two years into its invasion of Ukraine and insisted that the country must be prepared for the consequences of Western provocation.
He also noted that no one could predict when the war might end and accused the United States of escalating the conflict by providing weapons to Kyiv and allowing attacks deep into Russian territory.
