Dave Smith experienced persistent pain and changes in bowel movements for over a year before finally seeking medical attention in 2023. Initially, tests ruled out any conditions affecting his gut.
It was only in January, after waking up in the middle of the night fearing a heart attack, that further tests revealed he had multiple tumors on his liver and pancreas.
After being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February, Dave Smith lost four stone in just two months. He determined that he was too unwell to undergo chemotherapy. He passed away at home on May 28, just weeks later.
